1. WHO-CC AIIMS with the help of nursing colleagues and neonatologist from SEARO region came out with Essential Newborn Nursing for Small Hospitals with limited resources. The participatory learning tool can be accessed at www.newbornwhocc.org . The core contents are based on current evidence based practices advocated by WHO HQ (PCPNC Guidelines for Health Workers, World Health Organization 2010) and experts' opinion. The same is converted as "Aide Memoire" for healthcare professionals on smart phones. Modules have undergone pilot testing among nurses and doctors. The feedback suggested has been incorporated. We would welcome suggestions for further improvement
2. Standard treatment protocols (STP) for Management of Sick Newborns in Small Hospitals*
WHO-CC AIIMS with the help of neonatologists from SEARO region have come out with STP's for management of sick newborn at small hospitals with limited resources (newborn stabilization units and first referral units). These are based on current evidence based practices advocated by WHO HQ (Managing newborn problems: a guide for doctors, nurses, and midwives, World Health Organization 2003) and experts' opinion till date (26th January 2013). STP's have undergone pilot testing among postgraduate medical students. The feedback suggested has been incorporated. We would welcome suggestions for further improvement.

SickNewborn is an app based on the "Standard Treatment Protocols (STP's) for Management of Sick Neonates in Small Hospitals" World Health Organization Collaborating Center at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences with the help of neonatologists from SEARO region have come out with STP's for management of sick newborn at small hospitals with limited resources. Saving Newborn Lives ,National Neonatology Forum , Kangaroo Foundation, and experts' opinion . The app contains menu-based information for managing normal, at risk and sick newborn. Links to newborn procedures and equipment videos, wall charts in easy to read format are provided. This is complimentary to SickNewborn app of WHO CC AIIMS .
5. Essential Care for Every Baby (ECEB ) is an evidence-based educational program designed to increase cognitive knowledge and develop skills of health care professionals in essential newborn care in low-resource areas based on WHO HQ’s guidelines. The provider guide suggests ways for quality improvement methods to strengthen health systems. The tool focuses on the immediate care of the newborn after birth and during the first day or until discharge from the health facility. One may use HBSECEB app as a preparation for and during the initial training course. Others will use it after the completion of the course or as ‘Aide memoire’ point of care tool at bedside. It will guide activities that will help providers maintain and improve knowledge and skills through review and practice. HBSECEB also outlines ways to improve in your facility.
